What does ‘SERO’ mean and what do we do?

Sero is a Latin term and one of its meanings is ’to join together’.  In April 2004, a group of Sturminster Newton ladies decided that they would like to form a group with the aim of raising money for local charities and good causes. We are very proud to say that we became a registered Charity in February 2007.

Our main chosen charity is Julia’s House, Children’s Hospice

The Dorset Children’s Hospice for which we donate at least half of what we raise.  SERO feel it is very important to help Dorset children and their families.  The majority of the children they care for are unlikely to live beyond the age of 18.

Other local charities benefit from our fundraising and we do make sure all the money goes direct to the adults and children who need help.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support helping SERO to help others.
